Holten Transportation Inc. was officially incorporated in 2004; however its transportation roots began more than 40 years ago in The Netherlands.
In 1980 the European company was sold and the Holtens moved to Canada. Here, they started to do distribution and sales for several European companies. Eventually, in order to control the flow of merchandise, Holten Transportation Inc. was established to optimize service and utilize all equipment. Additional services have been added as the company has grown. Besides, dedicated transport along with the ability to deliver goods directly into private residences, Holten Transportation also offers cross-docking and a local delivery service.
Holten Transportation, because of its history and its solid connections in Europe, is able to provide transport from and to Europe with Northern Italy, Germany and The Netherlands as major hubs.
The equipment exists of flatbeds with Quickdraw tarp systems; temperature controlled trailers; 53ft. vans and various straight trucks. In 2014, Holten Transportation will be the first company to offer the Mega Max 300+ trailer in North America. This unique and ultra-efficient, low rider curtainside trailer has the ability to raise its roof in order to facilitate the loading of material with a height of 3 metres.
All U.S. States and Canadian Provinces are serviced as Holten Transportation is a bonded company. One of the major truck routes offered is weekly LTL shipments to Newfoundland.
